    • Teaching objectives

      By the end of the course, the student will be able to:

      • Master separation techniques in Process Engineering, including distillation, extraction, and mixing operations.
      • Understand and apply the fundamental concepts of equipment design and sizing.
      • Identify and analyze the main operational issues such as priming, flooding, and other common malfunctions.

      • Prerequisites

        Basic knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and transport phenomena; understanding of material and energy balances; and familiarity with engineering software tools (e.g., Excel, MATLAB).

          Chapter 2 – Solid-Liquid Extraction.
          Chapter 3 – Mixing.
