Tenses in Scientific texts
- Present Simple:
- "Climatic Zone and Soil Properties Determine the Biodiversity..."
- "Several autochthonous plants are well known..."
- "In their natural environment, they live with a great amount of microbial species..."
- "The results presented in this work highlight specific signatures..."
- Present Continuous: We use the present continuous (am/is/are + -ing) to talk about temporary things which have begun but haven't finished. They are often happening now, at this moment.
- "plants are now viewed as a 'holobiont'."
- Present Perfect: The present perfect (present tense of the verb have and the past participle of a verb.) is used to indicate a link between the present and the past.

- "They have been used for centuries..."

- Past Simple:
- "Soil sampling was performed during September 2018..."
- "The plants were active during sampling..."
- Future Simple:
