Learning Objectives
This course aims at:
1) In terms of knowledge, to clarify the importance of vowels in the English sound system.
2) In terms of the know-how (skills): to enable learners to differentiate between the production of vowels and that of consonants, and therefore to enable them to pronounce the target language’s utterances adequately.
3) In terms of attitudes: enable the students to communicate using the foreign language freely without mistakes in terms of pronunciation hence transmitting well pronounced messages with colleagues.
pré-requis
1-
Learners should know the different organs of the humans speech apparatus. Additionally,
they should distinguish between the different parts of the tongue.
2-
Learners should be able to locate the vowels on the vowel chart and they should know the
different parts of the tongue involved in the production of each vowel, thay should have
memorised the vowels' symbols.
